a couple of weeks ago, i got a text from a friend. they were going ice skating, AT MIDNIGHT, and did we want to join them?
(for backstory, there's an outdoor ice rink at UNMC, which is about a mile from where we live. each year, they host a skate-a-thon to raise money for parkinson's research. our friends were planning to attend, and decided they'd go ahead and act on their kids' requests to skate after midnight)
so i pondered it for a minute, had a quick discussion with matthew (it was decided that he'd stay home w/ sam) and asked alex and ben before i could think better of it. because sometimes you have to be the type of person to say yes to crazy things like skating at midnight.
it was cold, yes. and there was more on direction in the playlist than my boys preferred. ;) but we had a BLAST. we skated. we talked. we got to see a cool thriller performance.
but when the 1am skivvy skate rolled around, we decided it was time to head home. there are some things you just shouldn't say yes to. ;)
