minibooks and i have always had a tenuous relationship. i'm a little bit craft ADD, so committing to a project bigger than a page isn't always my idea of a good time. but handbooks? i like handbooks. the divided page protectors let me take it one pocket at a time, and before i know it, i'm done.
for this project, i started with one of the embossed chipboard binders, and a can of chalkboard spray paint. i had intended to draw the design in with chalk, but was unable to find any way to seal it so it could stand up to CHA handling. thanks to an instagram suggestion, i ended up using a white oil pastel and then sealing over that. thank goodness for having a good range of art supplies on hand!
i put the guts of the album together in one day. i used the method that i outlined in my divide & conquer workshop and just got it done. i did a fair amount of embellishing, but kept most of it to confetti pockets or lines of small embellishments - i love that it gave me a finished look without a lot of work.
in the end - i LOVE this album. it was hard to ship it off to CHA! it was a really fun way to wrap up both of our trips this year. i have more photos and memories i'd like to add to it, but this was a good start.
these products that i used to make this album aren't available QUITE yet - but the new lines should hit the SC shop by the end of the month. go ahead and click "notify me" if you want to get an email the second they come in! and please let me know if you have questions about any of the details in this album!
happy tuesday! i'll have more of my CHA projects to share tomorrow. =)
