ah, elmwood park. the name makes me smile - it's my neighborhood park. i totally wanted to do an elmwood park layout WITH elmwood park, but it just didn't happen. i did, however, make four layouts and a card with these lovely kits. oh. and a heads up. check out the new digi section - SC is now offering printables, diecuts and photoshop brushes. i used some of the die cuts on my project, and you'll definitely see the other digi offerings popping up on upcoming projects!
first up, my main only page. there's nothing like a trip out to the lake to kick off that summer mindset, and i wanted to record that on a page. i used the crafter's workshop / julie fei-fan balzer triangles mask that was in the shop this spring and misted the text paper + background with mister huey's buttercup. then i cut out some of the empty triangles and backed them with patterned paper. i used some strips of pp along the top as both a place for my photo and to add some banners and a photo mat, and then embellished around the photo. i finished the page with three little tweets at the bottom.
we love having the college world series here in town - so many events to go to!! ben's namesake team made it into the series for the second year in a row, so we had to go down and get autographs and watch them practice during the opening day fanfest. this is a very bits and pieces LO. loving these vellum bags - they're the perfect place to tuck some tags with journaling!! i embellished this one with some tape, stamped patterned paper and part of the vintage ticket from Elmwood Park.

oh man. minecraft. my three are sort of obsessed right now. and by "sort of" i mean "completely." and mean old mom makes them do NOT minecraft things during the day. can you imagine? so when i saw this pie chart stamp, i thought it would be a fun way to record their current obsession. =) i stamped each wedge of the pie chart in a different color, and then stitched a line to a banner + button with a description. this stamp is so fun - i can't wait to use it again!

when i saw the dr seuss quote stamp in capture the flag, i immediately thought of this picture. they're a perfect match. ;) this page went through a lot of different lives... and then was totally rearranged into what it is now. =) i did this layout for vanessa's 5th anniversary challenge to use a mirror image (more details on the SC blog!) my mirroring ended up being a little uneven, but i used the aqua triangles at the bottom and top and split the typewriter cart on either side. it may not be a literal interpretation of the challenge, but it got me thinking and this is where it took me.

and to finish it up, a quick little card featuring the free w/ $100 purchase while supplies last anniversary stamp set. LOVE the confetti stamp! I paired it with some real confetti - i used one of the bananafish studios packages to hold it.
