thank you all for the sweet words yesterday - they are definitely appreciated. it was LONG day - sam had more swelling and was complaining of more pain. today - we shall see. his says his arm is feeling better but he's already in a mood. ;) last night was a bit long, too, because he kept rolling over and waking up when he got his cast stuck in an uncomfortable position, which wasn't fun for either of us. we're going to try him on just advil today so he can get up and around a little more - both of us are going a little stir crazy.
i wanted to share a little how to on how i made my mini for the GLEE CLUB gallery. this is a quick and easy to make an album, and easy to customize for the size / number of pages you need.
i started by cutting 4 pieces of kraft cardstock to 4x8in and 6 pieces of patterned paper from GLEE CLUB to 4x4in. i folded each piece of cardstock in half and stamped the right side with the basic grey formula fun background in seed packet ink. i then flipped the cardstock over and did the same on the back side. i added my photos (printed at 2.5in square) and some diecut buttons, washi tape and strips of patterned paper to each page of stamped cardstock, as well as to each square of patterned paper. i then attached the patterned paper over the unstamped cardstock - the perfect way to hide the back of the stitching and staples.
once my pages were finished,i wrapped a 2x4in piece of the chevron fabric paper from DEBATE TEAM around the cover / back of the album. this add-on is sold out, but you could use a fabrip to reinforce the binding - the green woodgrain, pink houndstooth or yellow geometric would all coordinate well with glee club. i embellished the cover with a border sticker & the packaging from the brads in GLEE CLUB and a couple of buttons. i stamped the SC exclusive camera stamp with versamark on one of the sass labels in DEBATE TEAM, and then embossed it with metallic pewter and added it to the cover with foam adhesive.
the next step was to stack all of my pages and stitch them together using twine. i just used my needle to poke two holes along the fold and looped the twine through twice before tying it off. couldn't be easier!
i also wanted to share the rest of the inside of the album. i ended up using a little washi from my own stash since the amy tangerine mixtape was delayed.
nothing too complicated or fancy - i just wanted it done! i love the look of complex minis but i tend to get distracted before i finish them, so i wanted to keep this simple.
happy wednesday!
