when i posted this page, i had a couple of questions about how i made the hearts. so last night, i had alex walk me through it step by step so i could share his directions with you. =)
start with a sheet of paper. it needs to be a rectangle - ours was 4x3, and our finished heart was about 2x3in. i believe the hearts on my page started with paper that was 1.5x2.5. you can play with the proportions to get the size you want. we were using this SC exclusive paper from BOARDWALK - you'll want to put the side you want to be on the outside of your heart facing down.
fold it in half along the outer edge. crease along the fold and then reopen.
fold the top two corners down to your middle crease.
then repeat with the bottom two corners. you should have a square at this point.
fold your square in half - you will have two flaps that stick up.
fold down the inside corners and...
you'll have a heart! i used my tiny attacher at the base of mine, just to help keep everything in place.
aren't they cute? i love the dimension - it's gives it a different look than just using a heart punch.
now that alex has taught you to make the hearts - how about i give one of you a BOARDWALK kit so that you can recreate this page? everything i used on my "three" page came from this kit, i just added a few favorite basics (mist + punches!). BOARDWALK features a bunch of Studio Calico exlcusives - two papers, a frame stamp and a chipboard alphabet - as well as two exclusive papers designed by Crate Paper AND an alphabet in an exclusive color by Sassafras.
i loved working with this color scheme, it's so soft and versatile. here's a shot of the bsides - i love that there were some brighter pops of color in the mix, they worked well as accents. if you're looking to add even more colors to the mix, the TIDE POOL add-on is still available!

happy thursday!! i'm feeling a little bleh this morning - i spent yesterday afternoon doing yardwork and my allergies are NOT happy with me! sam and i are taking it slow today. i've got photos printed for another week of project life - i am hoping to share two more weeks with you tomorrow.
