boardwalk and i didn't have NEAR enough time together...  but we did enjoy what time we had. ;) i made three LOs for the gallery - 2 12x12s and a 2pg 8.5x11. it's still out on my desk - i'm thinking bits and pieces will make it into my project life album later this week! lots of new + exclusives this month. new american crafts chalkboard stickers. new pink paislee mistable trim. exclusive crate papers. exclusive sass alpha. good stuff!

this page is my favorite. very favorite. i started with one of my favorite photos from our vacation to lake michigan, and the rest just fell into place. i love the way the frame stamp from the main worked with the out of print paper!

this teal = perfect. i did some tone on tone misting with bluegrass and then went over it with the NEW calico shine. this page is pretty simple for me, but i worked in a lot of layers with the mistable trim and the hambly overlay. and the story? yeah. this boy has my heart. =)

a 2 pager! that makes 4 months in a row! =) i started the left page w/ lemonade over the ampersand mask and it wasn't *quite* enough contrast, so i gave it a shot of custard for a little oomph. loving the result. and how can that happy face stamp from sandcastle not make you smile?

sc blog blitz!

i'm sure that by now you've heard about the three new lines that studio calico released last week at cha - we're celebrating them with a blog blitz! stop by the studio calico blog for a full list of designers participating, then grab your favorite drink and settle in and start blog hopping! =)

this page features the classic calico collection and a whooooole lot of mist. i used custard, dewey clay, cameo and classic shine. i LOVE the newsprint paper along the right side - there are so many fun ways to work with the pattern. i masked off some of the design and added mist, and cut out other shapes and backed them with patterned paper. add in some kraft star stickers (LOVE!) and the pinked circle stamp from the you are the best stamp set.

this page is all autumn press - which is my favorite of the releases. i used the circle diecut paper as a mask for the background, and then went back over some of the circles with the new classic shine. this page has a little of everything - the i love books stamp set, 2 die cut papers, the alpha and label stickers, veneer astericks (!!!!!!!), kraft star stickers, scrap pads and a couple of patterned papers. whew. ;) that green pattern along the side is one of my faves - so simple, but perfect.

this is one of the new journal kits - these have so many possibilities. i turned mine into an inspiration notebook. i painted the outside yellow, and then masked / misted with mister huey's custard. i used the circle and butterfly masks on the interior pages as well. i did a little stamping with seedpacket and malted milk to add a little to the pages.

home. again.

so.glad.to.be.HOME. i left chicago at 7am yesterday, and was walking in my door by 9. perfect. after my nightmare of getting TO chicago (which started with a mechanical issue and ended with me flying to chicago via minneapolis because that was the fastest way to get there), my flight home was a dream. 

the show was good. less vendors, but still lots of good new releases and good traffic in the booths. LOTS of work, lots of walking. i talked about some of my favorites over at the 2peas blog - check that out if you want more info. 

the best part of CHA is always the people. in addition to spending time on end w/ the SC team that i work with daily, i also got to visit w/ the 2peas crew and to meet some of the SC members. love having real life interaction with the people that are in my computer. ;) i really missed some friends that didn't make it this time, and wish i'd had more time to chat w/ some of the people i met for the first time!

happy friday! i need to go unpack my august studio calico kit and get to work. i will have a LOT to share in the next couple weeks - SC sneaks, 2peas projects, trip photos - and i'll have a special promo for all of you on monday, too. ;) see you then!

 

a little peek

between trips...

we got home from chicago at 3am friday night (saturday morning?) and i am heading back today on a 7am flight...  i feel like kp. but less cosmopolitan. ;)

while i'm busy flying i've got a page to share..  you can see more info about it on the october afternoon blog. i mixed rocket age + boarding pass (should be at 2peas soon!) for this one.

peeking in...

from chicago! we got in yesterday afternoon and went to the field museum and the adler planetarium. SO love our omaha children's museum membership - we were able to get in to both of these museums (and discovery world in milwaukee) for FREE. too cool, yes? especially since both were things the boys enjoyed for a bit, but wouldn't have been worth the $$ for the amount of time we spent there. i am, though, wishing i had made time to get my camera serviced before we left. it's sometimes finicky about how it focuses and it missed it on all of my pics of my boys against the skyline. boo. they aren't as crisp as i'd like, and i'm crossing my fingers they print okay.

i wanted to share a new page from the 2peas garden. i posted this pic not that long ago - it made it to a page quickly. loving the new sass sunshine broadcast - it mixed nicely with crate's portrait line.

and it's time for sneaks again- a little peek at August's kit, BOARDWALK, went live last night. i cannot WAIT to use this for my vacation photos!
